I. The Question You're Wrestling With — Someone Asked It 3,000 Years Ago

You think "should I take this job in another city" is a modern anxiety?

It isn't.

3,000 years ago, when King Wen was imprisoned in Youli, the book he wrote contained an entire hexagram devoted to this exact question — "Migration". Flip further and you'll find "Jian" (gradual migration), "Lü" (the mindset of being a stranger in a foreign land), "Sui" (following the flow of the times).

The ancients were asking exactly what you're asking today: Should I go? Where to? What will happen? And what if I regret it halfway?

They just didn't call it "a relocation offer." They called it "moving the capital."

II. The I-Ching Doesn't Answer "Go or Stay"

This is the deepest misunderstanding about I-Ching for migration decision: people think it's a divination tool. Toss three coins, get a "yes" or "no," problem solved.

That's not it.

The Book of Changes reads migration through four layers:

• Timing (時) — Is the current cosmic field favoring movement or stillness? Is this a "Jian" (move slowly) moment or a "Lü" (wander for a while) moment?

• Position (位) — Where are you in your life stage? The migration hexagram reads completely differently for someone in their 20s versus 40s.

• Resonance (應) — Between you and the destination, is there resonance or resistance? Some places are noble ground for certain people and draining ground for others.

• Change (變) — Which line moves? What does it transform into? This is where the actual answer lives.

One offer, in different hands, produces completely different hexagrams. One hexagram, at different life stages, reads completely differently.

That's why I-Ching consultation is a deeply personal art — it's not a dictionary you flip open for an answer.

III. Why I Won't Teach You to Toss the Coins Yourself

I know YouTube is full of "learn to cast the I-Ching in 3 minutes" tutorials. And I've seen too many people take these tutorials and toss

coins over their life-defining decisions — quitting, relocating, marrying — again and again.

Then they hold a screenshot of a translated line and get more confused with every read.

This isn't the I-Ching's fault. It's a matter of posture.

A genuine I-Ching consultation needs three things at minimum:

• A settled mind — the washing of hands, the sitting still, the framing of the question. That preparation is the process of seeing what you're really asking.

• A full reading of the hexagram — primary hexagram, changing hexagram, moving lines, judgments, images, nuclear and inverted hexagrams. Eight dimensions cross-verifying each other.

• Someone who can land the reading in your actual life — "It furthers one to cross the great water" means completely different things to different people.

Miss any one of these three, and the toss was for nothing.

3000 年前，周文王被囚在羑里，写下的那本书里，有整整一卦就在讲这件事——"迁"。再往下翻，还有"渐"（循序渐进地迁）、"旅"（在外地漂泊的心态）、"随"（跟随时势而动）。

二、《易经》看迁移，看的从来不是"走或不走"

这是很多人对易经决策最深的误会：以为易经是"占卜工具"，摇一摇铜钱，得到"去"或"不去"两个字，问题就解决了。

不是这样的。

《易经》看迁移这件事，看的是四层：

• 第一层：时——现在这个时点，宇宙的能量场是"利于动"还是"利于藏"？是"渐卦"（该慢慢挪）还是"旅卦"（该在外漂一漂）？

• 第二层：位——你在你人生的哪个位置？年轻人的"迁"和中年人的"迁"，卦辞完全不同。

• 第三层：应——你要去的那个地方，跟你之间是"应"还是"敌"？有些地方对某些人是贵人地，对另一些人是耗神地。

• 第四层：变——这一卦里，哪一爻会动？动了之后，会变成什么卦？这才是真正的答案所在。

一份 offer，落到不同的人手里，摇出的卦完全不同。同一个卦，落到不同的人生阶段，读出的意思也完全不同。

这就是为什么"易经问卦"是一件极度个人化的事——它不是一本《辞海》，翻到某一页就有答案。

三、我为什么不教你自己去起这个卦

我知道网上有很多"三枚铜钱教你自学起卦"的教程。我也见过太多人拿着这些教程，把自己的人生大事——该不该辞职、该不该去外地、该不该结婚——摇了又摇。
